The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 is the gateway for admission into MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses across India. Types of NEET UG 2025 Counselling

  1. All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling – MCC

    • Includes 100% seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and ESIC institutions.
  2. State Quota Counselling – State Authorities

    • Covers 85% seats in government colleges of that state.
    • Includes 100% seats in private medical colleges of the state.

NEET UG 2025 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have qualified NEET UG 2025.
  • Minimum eligibility as per NEET UG norms (General: 50%, SC/ST/OBC: 40%, PwD: 45%).
  • Age limit: Minimum 17 years as on December 31, 2025.
  • Candidates from J&K are not eligible for AIQ unless they submit a self-declaration.
  • For Deemed Universities, candidates can apply nationwide.

Step-by-Step NEET UG 2025 Counselling Process (MCC)

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit the official MCC counselling portal: https://mcc.nic.in
  • Enter NEET Roll Number, Application ID, and other details.
  • Pay the registration fee (Non-refundable) and security deposit (Refundable).

Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking

  • Candidates can fill choices of colleges and courses in preference order.
  • Choice locking is mandatory to proceed further.

Step 3: Seat Allotment Result

  • MCC releases round-wise seat allotment results based on NEET rank, category, preferences, and seat availability.

Step 4: Reporting to Allotted College

  • If allotted a seat, candidates must report to the designated college with documents and fees within the timeline.
  • Failing to do so may result in losing the allotted seat.

Step 5: Free Exit and Upgradation

  • Round 1: Free Exit allowed (no forfeiture of security deposit).
  • Round 2 onward: If a seat is allotted and not joined, the security deposit is forfeited.
  • Candidates can opt for upgradation in Round 2.

Step 6: Mop-Up Round (Only for Deemed/Central Universities)

  • Fresh registration and choice filling.
  • No free exit.

Step 7: Stray Vacancy Round

  • Conducted by Deemed/Central universities directly.
  • No registration with MCC.
