Candidates who wish to get admission in Sikkim MBBS/BDS/Allied courses must register for state NEET counselling. Counselling and admission are undertaken by Directorate of Technical Education, Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim. For all engineering courses including lateral entry the allotment of seats will be done as per the merit of the marks obtained in JEE main 2020 for all other courses the allotment of seats will be as per the merit of the marks obtained in class XII or equivalent examination. The reservation and roster policy of the government will also be applicable on allotment of seats.

Resource Development Department (HRDD), Government of Sikkim is responsible for conducting Sikkim MBBS admissions 2020. Medical aspirants in Sikkim have the advantage of applying to Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). For RIMS, candidates from all the North East states including Sikkim to apply for the admission. However, RIMS reserves only 05 seats to eligible Sikkim medical aspirants. On the other hand, SMIMS offers 20 seats under concessional quota and 15 full fees MBBS seats. In all, medical aspirants have 40 seats in MBBS course. Selection Process For Sikkim MBBS/BDS Admission Through NEET 2020
Sikkim MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2020:
Domicile Rules: Applicants must be the residents of Sikkim and must have completed Class 10 and Class 12 from the schools located in Sikkim. Only those candidates will be considered for admission.
Educational Requirement: A valid and minimum qualifying marks in NEET-UG is mandatory for the admission to MBBS course in Sikkim. The candidates must also score at least 50% (40% for reserved categories) marks in Class 12 with Biology as one of the major subjects.
Interested candidates for MBBS/BDS Course, need to appear and qualify NEET 2020. There is no other state level examination conducted by any other state authority for admission in medical and dental courses in the state.The selection of candidates for admission to MBBS/BDS and Allied courses will be allotted as per the merit of the marks obtained in the NEET 2020. All aspiring candidates are therefore advised to appear for the NEET 2020. All candidates are required to submit a copy or print out of online application along with attested copy of following documents to the Directorate of Technical Education during office hours as per the schedule mentioned below.
Documents Required At Sikkim MBBS/BDS Admission Through NEET 2020
It is likely that the following documents will be asked for confirmation with the department about exact list.
- Sikkim Subject Certificate or COI of father or Certificate of Identification of candidate.
- Valid Community Certificate in the name of the candidate/ Trade License in the name of the father/Parent’s Employment Certificate.
- Recent BPL Certificate (issued by DESME)
- Date of Birth Certificate.
- Valid Demand Draft (candidate should write his/her name at the back of the Demand Draft)
Candidates should also bring originals of the above documents which will be returned after scrutiny. Admit card will be issued on the same day to CET candidates which is required to be produced at the time of examination and counselling.
Counselling / Merit List For Sikkim MBBS/BDS Admission Through NEET 2020
The counselling for allotment of State quota seats for the 2020 academic will be held as per the schedule. Counselling process will be started after the successful completion of the examination. Counselling or Merit List is based on the marks obtained by the candidate in the Examination. Counselling or Merit List will be released by Sikkim University on its official website.
